The GPS provides navigation for the player when using the map. Unlike GTA IV, none of the buildings are displayed in a global map in Chinatown Wars – all you can see on the bottom screen is the area currently selected in the top map, which is painfully restricted by the DS display size. Therefore the authors opted for making the target search simpler using three of the buttons, which are real time-savers. You can narrow the search using these filters:
People: All active people providing the missions or a contact (mainly the dealers) are sorted based on their distance from the player, including the actual distance (in feet).
POI (Points of Interest): Places in this group provide some sort of service, which can be of use to you (safehouses, pay’n’sprays, unique jumps, etc.).
Favorites: You can save any place you want in this group so that you don’t have to look them up again later (fast food, locations, etc.).
