It would not be necessary to install the box (normal) version of GTA V from DVD discs according to the latest information.

You will be allowed to use key from the box of GTA V and download the game from the Social Club (not the STREAM). The main advantage is that you will have normal version of the game as well as digital version, which you can use when you scratch game discs or lost it.

According to unofficial information the GTA V game will be on 7 discs. The game will be released on 14th 4. 2015. Size of pre-load files on the STREAM is 60GB.
